CBT for Fybromyalgia

Many people across the country are being diagnosed with chronic pain and fybromyalgia but at times have little or no information of how this condition can be treated. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a research into EMDR are proving that both these treatment options are highly beneficial in accepting , understanding and living with those conditions.

Very few people understand what EMDR actually is and its not a very common treatment option across certain areas within the NHS / Private therapists.

Hair pulling

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Trichotillomania, a useful link to view some of the techniques that maybe involved within treatment. 

Within my practice, clients are usually unaware that there are treatments for hair pulling.From my experience Cognitive Behavioural techniques for habit disorders are very effective.

Is CBT across Telephone effective?

Follow this link to view how effective a research trial was for CBT via telephone. Many IAPT and private CBT clinics are now offering therapy across email and telephone, it can prove cost effective and convenient 
 
Telephone therapy isn't for everyone but for clients whom cannot access support initially by attending appointments due to their anxiety, this could be a good means of accessing support / advice.
